FYI: Well back in May I got a speeding ticket going 96 in a 70mph zone. A fine of $360 was due July 25. 1st ever speeding ticket... I was offered traffic school but I decided to test out what I read from an online site and what someone I know suggested... Pay above the fine amount by 5-10 dollars. What this does, is "satisfy" the system that your fine was paid and they send you back a check for the amount you paid over.. As long as you don't cash that check the transaction is never completed and you never recieve the point on your DMV. If you don't get that point your insurance rates won't go up. It has worked for me and a friend of mine who did the same thing...Another piece of advice on tickets, be critical of everything on that ticket as it must ALL be correct at least according to california law. If it is not then look up the laws in your state to see if you have options. Just some info for all.... take it or leave it.. Happy speeding!
